Ferry or road?

The Jaigad–Tavsal ferry carries cars across the creek and saves a long detour. Ferry timings and waiting time vary, and crossings can stop in rough weather. When the ferry doesn't suit, Nayanish takes the inland road via Chiplun, which is longer but predictable.

Tell him when you want to reach and he'll choose the better option for that day.

Nayanish plans when to leave, where to stop and what to see on the way, and adjusts the day to suit you.

Why you'll see 79 km, 117 km, even 1,895 km

The coastal route with the Jaigad–Tavsal ferry is about 79 km. The all-road route via Chiplun is about 117 km. Most sites quote one of these; figures in between can come from a different start point, such as Ratnagiri station, about 8 km east of the city.

One booking site lists 1,895 km, which is simply an error. If a fare is worked out per km, check which distance it uses.
